On a return flight from Texas, the sun set over Tennessee and Kentucky, it got dark below
while we were still in the golden late afternoon light. The airplane changed to an American
Bald Eagle, and about 100 sketches later the painting was rendered. It's about flight, space,
freedom, the beauty of our world, the joy of life. It's about these values. You'll have to excuse
the artist if the eagle is longer winged, more graceful, more like a soaring entity.
